Description of Goanimate
Go animate is a really cool animation site that can be used by students and teachers a like. This web 2.o tool can be found at www.goanimate.com. I am not going to lie, I got really excited when I discovered this site and started playing with it. A basic subscription to Goanimate is free, but it has its limits. To have access to more features in Goanimate there are three other versions that cost money. These versions are the pro version (for personal use) which is $4.95 a month. The business version which can be $25, $38, or $50 a month depending on the business package. Finally, there is is the Goanimate for schools whose price is dependent on how many students and teachers use the site.

The pro packages (pro, business and school) offers more pre-made characters and backgrounds for users. It also allows for the creation of more of the users own characters. Users of Goanimate can choose to make a quick animated movie using Goanimate's quick video maker. This maker allows for videos to be made quickly, a good tool for quick projects in class, by using predetermined characters, backgrounds and movements. For users with more time and who want more freedom in their movie, go animate also allows users to create more complicated movies using their Full Video Maker. This maker allows the user to choose from multiple backgrounds and characters for movies and allows the user to determine the movements of their characters.

Users of Goanimate can also voice and sound to their movies. Users can choose to record their own voices or they can voice their creations by assigning them the pre-programmed voices and type what they want their characters to say.
Education package varies on how many students and teachers use it.

4. Here is a step by step look at how to use the Quick Video Maker, the maker I would recommend to use in class for a quick project. Below are the genres in the Quick Video Maker. I am going to use the School Chronicles Genre to illustrate the awesomeness of this program.

5. The first screen you will see once you have selected your Quick Video Maker just introduces you to the genre. Once you are ready, click on the next button and the screen will automatically take you to the first step.
